Hello Friends and welcome aboard the S.S. Dooney! We are delighted to have you with us on this journey!

The Sean & Sheri Dooney Family Foundation is a non-profit organization created in loving memoriam of Sean Michael Dooney Sr. who was swept out to sea in a tragic boating accident in May of 2018. The Foundation was started by his wife, Sheri Dooney, as a means to help support the many incredible organizations that have impacted Sean & Sheri’s life together, and that of their seven children. The Foundation’s inaugural event, the Sean Dooney Memorial Fundraiser Tournament, was held this past May 6th, on the first anniversary of Sean’s death. Four organizations were selected by the Foundation as the first beneficiaries of the foundation, the proceeds which were all raised through our inaugural event; within each organization there is a specific project to which the funds are being allocated. The Dooney family has much gratitude for the overwhelming support their entire community has provided them over the years, and especially with the shock of Sean’s passing and the following months. They hope to be able to carry on Sean’s spirit through generosity and provision to those in underserved communities.

The overarching goal of the Foundation is to create learning and growing opportunities within the greater Portland, Oregon and Pacific Northwest areas, through support of other organizations with similar missions and direct provision of aid to those facing limitations. We cannot wait to see the impact we can help to make through our efforts and love of Sean and his desire to build positive relationships in our community.

The Second Sean Dooney Memorial Fundraiser:

Postponed until Spring 2022

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, civil unrest, and wildfires that have taken a toll on our communities, we have been unable to gather and celebrate the Second Sean Dooney Memorial Fundraiser with you in the years 2020 & 2021.

In order to protect the vulnerable members of the community and properly celebrate life, friendships, and family we feel confident this is the necessary thing to do. We are grateful to the golfers and sponsors who committed to the event and hope you will be able to join us when restrictions allow.
