Walsh Truck (21).jpg

Walsh Trucking

A second generation local family-owned business built out of the ingenuity of Bill Walsh Sr. in 1959; Walsh Trucking began serving the Northwest with a single tractor and trailer and has grown over the last fifty years into the largest transporter of wood residual and solid waste in the region. Since their early years, the company has expanded through acquisition, innovation, a mindset of servicing the customer above and beyond their needs while always operating the business with the highest level of integrity. They have built a strong presence in the community and brought an authentic relationship aspect to business. Currently run by the Walsh family, the company will continue emphasizing safety, innovation, investing in equipment and technology and dedication to providing superior service to our customers.

The Dooney and Walsh family ties are not just that of business, but also of blood. The Walsh and Dooney boys attended Central Catholic together in the late 70’s and there are “many stories—some you can tell and some you cannot,” from those days, according to Bob Walsh, but nevertheless a long friendship ensued. With a long history of affection, friendship and quality time over the years, a natural business relationship arose between Walsh Trucking and Leonard Adams. After over 30 years in business with Sean, the Walsh family was heartbroken by his passing, but are delighted at the opportunity to honor his memory by sponsoring the first annual Sean Dooney Memorial Fundraiser this coming May.

We at the Sean & Sheri Dooney Family Foundation are honored to have Walsh Trucking on our team. Their contribution has helped us in making our first inaugural event, in loving memory of Sean, not only a possibility, but an opportunity to give back to the communities that have made such an impact in our lives. As well, we are so thankful that we are blessed with these wonderful caring and loving cousins that we have enjoyed knowing for many decades! Their unending support is invaluable and we appreciate their wonderful friendship and love of Sean.

Tim & Lori Small

Tim and Lori have been longtime dear friends of Sean & Sheri and the Dooney family. The families have enjoyed many business and personal events together over the years. Tim and Sean’s older brother, Dan, were classmates at Central Catholic High School, where Sean was just a class behind them. The Small and Dooney family friendship was strengthened when Tim & Lori’s son, Vinny, joined Brian’s class at St. Thomas More in 6th grade. Vinny is also a fellow CC alum with the younger six Dooney kids and attended the University of Montana where Sean Jr. graduated from in 2014. Some of Sean & Sheri’s vacation highlights throughout the years were spent with Tim & Lori, with much laughter, fun and love. We looked forward to many more adventures together, but unfortunately they will be missed. Sheri is extremely grateful for all the experiences she & Sean had with Lori & Tim. They will be forever treasured. Our family as well adore Tim & Lori and are so thankful for their support and dear friendship. Thank you both for your love, generosity, and support. We are so grateful to have friends like you!

Servicemaster

Sean’s good friends and golfing buddies Tony Kann, Jim Grant, and Samuel Okafor came together with our dear friend Dave Barcomb in a team to be one of our gold sponsors for the tournament. Sean had the great pleasure of writing their business for many years, where ServiceMaster has many franchises and divisions; and developed long lasting relationships with each of them.

Sean and Sheri had the good fortune of meeting Samuel and his family out at Riverside where their kids participated in the Junior Golf Program together in the summers. Lo and behold Samuel became one of Sean’s customers and designated golfing buddies as well, and the rest is history.

Both Dave and Jim’s friendships with Sean began through Bill Emberlin; as a lifelong family friend, Bill, was always bringing new people into our lives. These friendships like many others began with business relationships, but as Sean had a way of doing, these fine gentlemen were soon fast friends of Sean’s as well.

As Tony put it, Sean and he have known each other “since the crib” and spent many years of golf and friendship out on the course. Tony recalls his last golf round with Sean, a few weeks before his passing, as one of the most memorable times. After the round Sean and he proceeded to debate which was finer, Irish whiskey or Scotch? Alas, the next morning neither could remember which fine drink prevailed, but their friendship did for most of their lives.

Thank you all for your generosity and support! We are so grateful to you and curious to see if your golfing skills are as good as Sean’s!

Bill & Janis Mildenberger

Bill and Janis have been long time family friends of the Dooney family. Sean and Billy became friends in their time together at Central Catholic where Bill and Dan, Sean’s older brother, were classmates and made quick work on the football field. The Mildenberger’s and Dooney’s friendship was strengthened even more through the many games they spent cheering on their boys, Marcus and Ronan, as they played with and against each other in youth sports, including football, basketball and lacrosse. What a fun journey it has been especially since Ronan and Marcus attended CC together! As well, Sean and Billy enjoyed playing basketball in the CC John Shephard Classic over the years, as the classes of ‘78 &’79 teamed up as one. Sheri and kids enjoyed cheering on the two and recall welcoming Billy’s girlfriend Janis into the CC family! We are blessed to have tremendous friends like Billy, Janis and their family!

“Sean and the Dooney family are true champions of faith. We hope Sean’s spirit lives on through their foundation” ~Bill & Janis

Thank you both for your love, generosity, and support. We are so grateful to have friends like you!

The O’Mulligans

Bill Lenz, Mike Dyer, Jim Dodson, and Scott Howard were all great friends of Sean’s and always Sheri too. Dodson attended Central Catholic with Sean and his brother Dan in the 70s. Dyer, Dodson and Howard attended OSU with Sean and Sheri, and Lenz joined the crew shortly after college. The boys had many adventures, shenanigans and laughable memories together with Sean. Some of Sean & Sheri’s highlights through the years included The O’Mulligans and the many special people who are also a part of this special circle of friends! God Bless the wonderful memories we have enjoyed and will continue to be thankful for!

“We all seemed to be at an event, wedding or someone’s house for some type of celebration every weekend. We enjoyed our time together and made many lasting memories. As our lives got busier with careers, starting families, etc. it was tougher to get together as often, but when we did it felt like we never missed a beat and would pick up right where we left off.

Sean was always good for a smile or laugh no matter what the situation was. He had a knack for talking you into almost anything even if we knew it might get us into trouble. He was the definition of a good friend. He would tell you his thoughts good or bad and made you feel like part of his extended family. He would absolutely be there if you needed him, and vice versa. We cherished our time together and pledge to do more, celebrating his life and our friendships.”

~The O’Mulligans

Thank you all for your love, generosity, and support! We are so grateful to have friends like you!
