The Daytime Shenanigans~
The Dooney Family was honored to be joined by many dear friends, family, and members of their community on this beautiful Monday morning! The day started at 10 am as players arrived, warmed up, and enjoyed a barbecue lunch, beers and conversation before the 114 golfers set off in a shotgun scramble! It was a full day of fun and shenanigans out on the course that included a toast to Sean on the 17th “Watering” hole and a Hole-in-One shot to win a Jeep Grand Cherokee sponsored by Leonard Adams Company and NW Jeep. It was a perfect day to be out on the course celebrating life and friendships new and old, Sean would have loved to be a part of the fun and it was such an incredible reflection of the way in which he pursued life. Thanks to the steering committee, the Riverside event team, and our many wonderful volunteers the tournament and celebration ran smoothly from the beginning to well into the evening!
The Celebration~
The Scramble was followed by a social hour of drinks and hors d’oeuvres watching the last few groups straggling in from the course and conversing with wonderful friends and members of our community. Then we tucked into a delicious dinner (mostly) after Archbishop Sample gave a blessing! The evening was lively to say the least; with raffle prizes and tournament trophies being distributed, as well as a surprise birthday song for Molly Dooney turning 16! Sheri, Erin and Brian Dooney all gave impromptu speeches explaining a little more about the foundation and everything that has gone into planning this event. And of course, there was no other way to end the evening than with a toast to the man himself, Sean Michael Dooney Sr.~dearly missed and so very loved!
Thank you again for joining us, we cannot wait for next May to arrive!
God Bless You!
